Ever wonder what happens to the leftover food that you see in restaurants and at events? Some very special people did. And they decided to do something with it.
Saving Grace
was started as a nonprofit, grassroots, perishable food rescue and delivery agency that picks up perishable food donations in refrigerated trucks six days a week from local restaurants, caterers, cafeterias, grocery stores, delis and food distributors. They do not warehouse food, but instead, deliver it the same day, free of charge to nonprofit agencies that serve families in need such as pantries, missions, after-school programs, daycares, senior centers and churches.
We are proud to have donated the design, wrap and installation on one of their collection trucks. So next time you are at an event, take a peek in the kitchen to see how much extra food has been prepared and is going to waste. Then ask yourself how you can help to redirect this excess to those who need it most.
